Unilin Technologies announced that it won the opposition against its digital printing technology patent EP2132043 by the European Patent Office.

Unilin’s EP2132043 patent covers immediate drying of the ink during printing on décor paper using water-based inks enhancing print quality and improving lamination process. This drying process prevents bleeding and penetration of the ink into the décor paper, resulting in brighter colors, better definition and less ink usage. Additionally, it enables a smoother lamination process, without bubbling or cause for delamination. The technology is part of Digicor, Unilin’s technology patent portfolio for single pass roll-to-roll digital printing onto décor paper for laminate.
