Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home hosted its fourth annual Teacher Appreciation Event July 21-22, 2022, at its Athens and Lake Oconee, Georgia, showrooms, providing cut carpet and school supplies for the 2022-2023 school year.

The retailer teamed up with other local small businesses, Certified Clean Care and More Than Blinds, and more than 200 teachers from 74 local schools attended the event.

“We started our Teacher Appreciation Event in 2019, so this was our fourth year hosting the event,” said Kristin Sailors, marketing and public relations manager, Dalton Carpet One. “The idea came about because teachers would contact us throughout the year asking for any carpet remnants we may have that they could use for their classroom. We decided to host an event as our way to give back to our local teachers and meet this need. Every year before school starts, teachers can come and pick up a cut carpet for their classroom and a bag of school supplies to help them get started for the year.” 

Educators with a valid Georgia teacher ID received these items on a first-come, first-serve basis. In addition to giving away carpet and school supplies, Dalton Carpet One also offered teachers the chance to win an area rug and a set of pillows for their home.
