Women in the Flooring Industry (WIFI) received its first pledge of financial support setting up the foundation for programs and events planned for the coming year. Hearst, parent company to Floor Covering Weekly, gifted WIFI $25,000 in support of the non-profit’s efforts to educate and elevate the role of women in the floor covering industry.

The WIFI executive board met this summer in Nashville during the CCA Global convention making decisions on programs including professional development and mentorship initiatives aimed at meeting the non-profit’s mission to empower, connect, support, develop, educate and inspire women in the floor covering industry.

The WIFI executive board includes:

  • Andrea Blackbourn, WIFI nominating chair, executive director Floor Covering Industry Foundation

  • Emily Morrow Finkell, WIFI chairwoman
  • Tanja Kern, WIFI secretary, associate publisher and editorial director, Floor Trends and Floor Covering Installer
  • Brenda Knowles, WIFI fundraising chair, vice president, commercial, Shaw Industries
  • Amy Rush-Imber, WIFI vice chair; editor-in-chief, Floor Covering Weekly
  • Dana Teague, WIFI treasurer; vice president, Informa Markets
