Domotex 2023 will explore questions about healthy, natural and sustainable living in working and living spaces. The show theme, “Floored by Nature”, will take place in Hannover, Germany, January 12-15, 2023, and Floor Trends and Floor Covering Installer will be on hand to discover the latest innovations, introductions and thought leadership in flooring.

"The resource-saving use of materials, the circular economy, a new sourcing debate, healthy living and working, and advancing digitalization in all areas of life are also shaping the flooring industry and with it the world's leading trade show Domotex," said Sonia Wedell-Castellano, global director, Domotex, Deutsche Messe AG. "'Floored by Nature' stands for sustainable and natural materials that are taking over our living spaces...But serious raw material shortages, high transport costs and further rising energy prices are also creating major challenges for the industry. Domotex is also a showcase for these issues, highlighting potential, addressing opportunities and risks, and providing best practices."

The theme will focus topics on three areas: Connecting Markets will highlight the need to adapt to changing conditions. Markets are in a constant state of transformation: constantly changing import and export relationships, supply relationships, supply bottlenecks, increased energy and production costs, digital services and new online trading platforms are changing the economy. Digital technologies offer the possibility to launch new collections across sales floors and national borders and to connect with existing customers. Social media, in particular, has also become an important sales channel in the flooring industry alongside stationary retail. The topic Conscious Living explores the desire for healthy living and working, the commitment to environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes with the aim of creating balanced and at the same time trend-conscious living and well-being spaces. Via the theme Colorful Nature, Domotex will presenting nature as a source of inspiration for designs, color and pattern.

A new sustainability showcase, The Green Collection, will incorporate conference program, a material show and the award ceremony.

"With The Green Collection, our aim is to create a space for sustainable products that serves as a platform for stimulus and inspiration and as a forum for important topics such as the circular economy and sustainable production, as well as social responsibility, while giving exhibitors the opportunity to have their products honored by a high-caliber jury," Wedell-Castellano said. "We also aim to bring our value-based lead theme "Floored by Nature" to life, so as to make for more awareness of sustainability in the carpet and flooring industry in the future."
