James (Jim) Dewitt Ogletree, 76, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away suddenly on December 5, 2022.  

He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on November 7, 1946. Ogletree graduated from Jacksonville State University and proudly served as a U.S. Army officer before beginning his respected career in the flooring industry. 

His first role in flooring was as a commercial sales associate with Southern Carpets of Birmingham, Alabama. He became a commercial sales manager with Bentley Carpets before becoming territory manager with Collins & Aikman. He then became managing partner of the Floor Show. Ogletree worked for two decades with Atlanta Flooring Design Centers. He will be deeply missed.

Ogletree is survived by his wife Terri Forister-Ogletree; sister Tracy Kuhn; daughter Sharron Mitchell and son Jimi Ogletree; four granddaughters, Jamie Anderson (Mitchell), Jenna Mitchell, Marley Ogletree and Macy Ogletree; and many loved nieces, nephews, special family members, friends, and associates.

A praise service and celebration of Jim’s life will be held on January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home in Birmingham, Alabama. An Atlanta celebration, soon to be announced, will be held in mid-January at Atlanta Flooring Design Centers in Suwanee, Georgia.
