Luxury supplier Karndean Designflooring is expanding its 12-mil Knight Tile product range. It will offer the full selection of designs in an additional rigid core format, as well as creating new visuals for the range.

Originally introduced to the US market in 1998 as a glue-down range, Knight Tile grew to offer a diverse mix of effortlessly stylish wood species and natural stones with universal appeal. Today’s Knight Tile range includes 14 woods sized 36” x 6” and 10 stones sized 12” x 18”, with all visuals now available in both glue-down and rigid core constructions.

The latest designs to join the range were developed from concrete, Carrara marble, Northern European oak and character oak pieces reclaimed from a wind-powered sawmill in Amsterdam. New colorways of the range’s existing Lake District slate design and Scandinavian pine design are also now available.

According to Karndean Designflooring Director of Product Jenne Ross, these new visuals are especially timely.

“We were able to capture many market drivers in our latest visuals. The addition of mid-warm woods focus on the need for comfort and well-being,” Ross said. “Other new wood looks lean more traditional with some character knots, complementing a more airy aesthetic; and new aggregate concretes and a light, warm marble look add greater variety to our entry-level range.”

The company has also made two Knight Tile designs – Pale and Mid Limed Oaks – available in a 48” x 9” chevron plank format. Easily incorporate a classic chevron pattern into projects without the added time of making cuts on site; and for an even faster install, opt for the rigid core format. Another design element that aims to reduce install time is the addition of a painted bevel on all Knight Tile rigid core stones.

“We consider Knight Tile to be our entry-level product range because of its 12mil wear layer, but the quality and level of detail within the designs reflect what the design community has come to expect from Karndean Designflooring. Now that the full range of visuals is available in two constructions, specifying Knight Tile offers even more flexibility,” Ross added.
