HMTX Industries will host a fundraiser and Symposium for HMTX Cares, a charitable organization of volunteers who are full-time HMTX employees, on Thursday, March 9, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. The theme “One Million Points of Light” reflects HMTX Cares’ million-dollar goal: funding scholarships for those suffering from addiction and mental illness who could not otherwise afford urgently needed treatment. The event will unfold at HMTX’s magnificent new world headquarters, The House Up On The Hill, 27 Seir Hill Road in Norwalk, Connecticut.

The evening’s focus is to raise $100,000 towards HMTX Cares’ ultimate goal of over $500,000, which will be matched dollar for dollar by HMTX Industries’ CEO Harlan Stone. A total of $1 million will be donated to addiction and mental health treatment and education facilities.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Margaret Lowenstein, MD, MSHP, a general internist, addiction medicine physician, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on novel strategies for implementing evidence-based treatment and harm reduction interventions for opioid and other substance abuse disorders. She will discuss the delivery of substance abuse care in general medical settings as well as developing and studying low-barrier treatment models for substance use disorders.

Following the keynote, the panel discussion “Current Best Practices and Essential Needs” will feature guest speakers from addiction and mental health agencies supported by HMTXCares. They will share their challenges and successes in substance use disorder treatment including both behavioral and medical intervention approaches.

Said Paul Eanes, HMTX Cares Chairman, “We are very close to hitting our goal of raising $500,000 to fight this dreadful disease. All funds support the best addiction and rehab agencies in America, and we have saved and changed lives!”

Tickets are $125 per person. Sponsorships are available for the event, ranging from the $1,000 Supporter up to the $7,500 Platinum level. For more information, to purchase tickets or become a sponsor, visit One Million Points of Light Addiction & Mental Health Fundraiser  — HMTX Cares.
