America’s Floor Source (AFS) has named Michel Vermette Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

AFS is a Columbus, Ohio-based flooring retailer, wholesaler and contractor to the single family, multifamily and commercial industry with nine locations in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Wisconsin. 

Vermette has more than 30 years of operational and financial leadership in the building products industry, earned while most recently serving as CEO and board member of Armstrong Flooring, Inc. While that role, he led the sale Armstrong's assets to three international consortiums. Prior to that, Vermette led multiple business units as president, and operated in different chief financial officer roles across the globe for Mohawk Industries.

The founder of America’s Floor Source, Jason Goldberg, has transitioned to the role of operating officer and will continue to be active in AFS operations focusing on continuous process and system improvements and service to America’s Floor Source customers.

Mike Stinnette, who joined America’s Floor Source in 2018, will remain as president of the company. He will continue to lead day-to-day operations, overseeing the sales and installation teams, and driving achievements and consistency of each AFS divison: builder, commercial, multifamily, retail, and wholesale.

Stinnette previously served as regional vice president for Mohawk Flooring. Since joining the company , AFS has doubled its sales volume, expanded to three new markets, and added five showrooms.

“Jason, Mike and the AFS team have built a great business model and strong operations," Vermette said. "AFS has tremendous potential to scale and add new markets.

Vermette’s initial focus will be on the strategic road map and partnerships that will accelerate company growth. He has already begun to establish a capital structure and best processes that will enable America’s Floor Source to scale, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
