Summit International Flooring, one of the nation's premiere specialty flooring suppliers and consultants, announced the addition of a new COO, Regional Sales Manager for the Pacific Northwest and Customer Service & Logistics Specialist to its team.

Rick Taylor, COO, Summit Flooring

Rick Taylor is an expert in the interior furnishings and design industries for over 30 years, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he started his career in the retail furniture business, where he gained valuable experience in all aspects of business management, especially importing. Taylor left retail in the early 90’s to focus on product development, wholesale sales, and distribution in the furniture and textiles industries. More recently, and prior to joining Summit, he held executive leadership roles in custom high-end furniture manufacturing with responsibility for supply chain management, production, logistics, and finance. Taylor calls New Jersey home. 

Peter Carey, Regional Sales Manager-Pacific Northwest, Summit Flooring

Peter Carey, a LEED AP, a WELL AP, as well as an expert on sustainable design, was hired to spearhead new business on the West Coast, emphasizing sustainable products. Before joining Summit Flooring, Carey owned and operated Streamline Material Resourcing, a NYC-based company that maintained material libraries for many of the most prestigious design firms in the city. Now based in Portland, Oregon, Carey’s territory with Summit Flooring stretches from Washington State down to San Francisco, California. His experience with how and why A&D operates the way it does, along with extensive practical knowledge of how materials are installed and are expected to perform in the field made him an ideal choice for this position. Carey is a natural educator, mentor and guide in the specification process for commercial flooring.

Carmen Silvestro, Customer Service and Logistics Specialist, Summit Flooring

Carmen Silvestro, has over 20 years experience in hospitality, client services, and bookkeeping. Known for her adaptability in diverse environments, Silvestro's forte has always been working with and assisting others, making sure they leave with a smile and complete satisfaction.
