The Floor Covering Industry Foundation (FCIF) has unveiled its 2024 Report to the Industry, documenting a year of community support and financial assistance for flooring professionals facing medical crises.
The interactive flipbook features stories of resilience throughout the flooring community, including cover story subject Maribel, a 16-year veteran tufting machine operator whose battle with breast cancer left her overwhelmed by medical bills and daily expenses.
"FCIF stepped in at the most critical moment, covering essential expenses like my mortgage, utilities, and groceries when I couldn't work," said Maribel, whose story is available in both English and Spanish. "Their support allowed me to focus on healing instead of financial worry."
The report's release coincides with FCIF's upcoming Day of Giving on June 1, when the organization calls on industry professionals and leaders to contribute to its mission of supporting flooring families in medical crisis.
"Since 1981, FCIF has been the industry's safety net for professionals facing catastrophic injuries, severe disabilities, and life-threatening illnesses," said Andrea Blackbourn, FCIF Executive Director. "The Day of Giving represents an opportunity for our community to come together and ensure we can continue providing this critical support."
FCIF, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, directs donations to help cover essential expenses for flooring professionals and their families during medical hardships. The organization invites industry members to view the full report and support the Day of Giving at www.fcif.org.
