B.I.G. Yarns Invests €25 Million in French Production Site

B.I.G. Yarns, a manufacturer of polyamide, polypropylene, and polyester carpet yarns based in Waregem, Belgium, has announced a €25 million [U.S. $28.37 millino] investment in its French production facility. This strategic move reinforces the company's commitment to European manufacturing amid growing competition from Middle Eastern and Asian producers.
The investment includes the installation of state-of-the-art Bulked Continuous Filament (BCF) lines, enhancing the company's capabilities in one-step three-ply yarn production. These advanced manufacturing lines will enable more energy-efficient, faster, and flexible production systems, allowing for smaller batch sizes and more adaptable production runs.
The company's strategic European location—within 500 km of its most important customers—provides significant advantages including faster delivery times, closer collaboration opportunities, and enhanced service levels. This proximity strategy helps B.I.G. Yarns maintain its competitive edge despite increasing pressure from overseas manufacturers.
The new technology will increase design possibilities for carpet tile manufacturers, offering greater contrast and color freedom while improving overall flexibility and service. The investment represents a crucial step in B.I.G. Yarns' growth strategy and vision for a more sustainable future in yarn production.
