Shaw Industries released its 2024 corporate sustainability report, showcasing significant environmental and social achievements. The company's 17th annual report details progress toward its 2030 sustainability goals with notable accomplishments across multiple areas.
Almost 90 percent of Shaw's products have now earned Cradle to Cradle Certification, undergoing rigorous assessment for material health, climate protection, product circularity, and social fairness. The company has reduced its operational carbon footprint by 64 percent compared to 2010 levels, marking substantial progress toward its goal of net-zero enterprise operations by 2030.
Shaw's commercial brands introduced EcoWorx Resilient in 2024, a fully recyclable, PVC-free flooring solution that meets performance, design, and sustainability needs at competitive pricing. This innovation adds to the company's product takeback programs, which have recycled almost one billion pounds of carpet since 2006.
On the social responsibility front, Shaw provided over one million hours of training to associates and customers and donated $7.1 million to philanthropic organizations. The company also became one of the first globally to achieve the WELL Equity Rating for six facilities.
"At Shaw, we put people at the heart of our sustainability efforts and all that we do," said Kellie Ballew, chief sustainability and innovation officer. This people-centered approach forms the foundation of their strategy to create innovative products and build a better future for associates, customers, and communities.
Shaw President and CEO Tim Baucom emphasized the importance of partnership in the company's achievements: "I'm proud of the achievements highlighted throughout this report, but more than any metric, award, or success story, I'm struck by the exponential power of partnership — a theme that defines who we are and how we lead."
