APE Grupo has launched Antico Casale, a ceramic tile collection that reinterprets the artisanal tradition of Renaissance terracotta through a contemporary lens, drawing inspiration from the historic ceramic craftsmanship of Montelupo Fiorentino near Florence.
The collection pays homage to the Medici legacy and Renaissance artistic traditions while offering modern functionality for today's design needs. Each piece captures the essence of historic Italian villas, featuring weathered aesthetics that suggest the natural passage of time and organic pattern emergence from clay.
The collection offers extensive design flexibility with multiple format options, including 60x120 cm, 90x90 cm, 60x60 cm, and an innovative 120x120 cm size. A specialized 33x120 cm stair tread format is designed for pool and outdoor applications.
Color palette ranges from earthy hues and warm beiges to sophisticated graphite tones, while decorated pieces available in 120x120 cm and 60x60 cm formats showcase glazes that appear to emerge organically from within the clay, faithfully reproducing traditional Florentine ceramic designs.
The collection continues to evolve with the addition of smaller-format pieces and special items. This modularity provides designers and architects with a versatile canvas for projects that honor historical inspiration while embracing contemporary creativity and functionality.
