Tarkett Home has transformed its inventory management through a strategic partnership with Versatrim that eliminated the need for traditional trim storage while improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The global flooring leader collaborated with Versatrim, North America's leading manufacturer of custom floor moldings and trims, to implement a made-to-order stocking solution that replaced pre-order inventory with demand-driven production.

The partnership delivered dramatic results, with Tarkett Home reducing approximately 14,000 trim pieces in inventory to zero—a 100% elimination of inventory storage needs. The shift to just-in-time production and delivery has streamlined warehouse operations while reducing waste and operational costs.

"Versatrim's made-to-order stocking solution has completely transformed how we operate," said Katie Szabo, director of product management for hard surfaces at Tarkett Home. "Not only have we reduced our inventory space by 100%, but we've also minimized waste and improved our overall operational efficiency."

The collaboration addressed growing challenges in managing diverse trim SKUs and fluctuating market demand that had made traditional inventory models increasingly inefficient. By shifting to Versatrim's Coordinating Molding Program, Tarkett Home now tailors trim production directly to customer needs, avoiding overstock situations while ensuring accurate order fulfillment.

The partnership enables faster order processing through just-in-time manufacturing, better resource utilization, and scalable growth without inventory constraints—benefits that extend throughout the supply chain.

Keith Medick, president and CEO of Versatrim, emphasized the collaborative nature of the solution. "We are honored to partner with Tarkett Home in delivering a flexible, customer-first solution that drives real operational value," Medick said. "This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation, service and supporting the success of our partners."
