AHF Products Releases First Sustainability Report

AHF Products, a leading North American manufacturer of hard surface flooring, has released its first Sustainability Report, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to environmental transparency and accountability. The comprehensive report outlines AHF's sustainability framework across four core pillars: Circular Economy, Climate & Ecosystem Health, Human Health, and Social Health & Well-Being.
The report emphasizes the environmental advantages of AHF's U.S.-based manufacturing model, which includes 10 domestic manufacturing facilities producing porcelain, hardwood, and VCT products from locally sourced materials. This approach enables the company to reduce transportation-related emissions while maintaining strict quality control and supply chain transparency.
"U.S.-based manufacturing gives us a unique ability to respond quickly to customer needs, control material sourcing, and ensure consistency in quality and sustainability," said Brent Emore, CEO of AHF Products. "Producing locally, from renewable or abundant resources, to create durable floors that last generations - reducing landfill waste and smart sustainable choice for consumers and designers. It's common sense that producing materials that last generations is good for everyone."
Notable Environmental Achievements
The sustainability report, aligned with SASB frameworks and covering fiscal year 2024–2025, highlights several key milestones:
- First Carbon Neutral Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for porcelain through the Crossville® brand
- Expanded environmental documentation for all commercial wood, resilient, and porcelain products
- Growth of the densified hardwood product line
- Continued investment in energy-efficient infrastructure and material circularity initiatives
Among the featured sustainable products is Crossville Beljn, a carbon-neutral porcelain tile inspired by Belgium limestone and produced with up to 15% recycled content. The tile represents the fourth addition to Crossville's carbon-neutral collections.
Comprehensive Product Portfolio
AHF's sustainable manufacturing extends across multiple product categories. The company's resilient flooring line includes Armstrong Flooring MedinPure, a PVC-free, high-performance sheet flooring free of Red List chemicals, and VCT tiles made primarily from abundant limestone resources.
The hardwood division features products made from 100% American hardwoods—including oak, maple, hickory, and walnut—harvested, milled, and finished domestically under iconic brands like Bruce, Hartco®, and Robbins. The company's engineered hardwood collections showcase innovations like Densified Hardwood, manufactured without chemicals or fillers using only heat and pressure.
"Our work at AHF is guided by a clear understanding that the choices we make today shape the world we build tomorrow," said Noah Chitty, VP of sustainability and technical services at AHF. "From investing in energy-efficient infrastructure to expanding disclosure programs and incorporating recycled materials into our products, we're focused on making sustainability real—measurable, transparent, and part of every surface we manufacture."
Industry Leadership and Certifications
All featured products align with leading third-party certifications, including FloorScore, Declare, FSC, and CARB/TSCA requirements. The products support major sustainability frameworks such as LEED, SASB, Gensler Product Sustainability Standards, and mindful MATERIALS.
As one of the few U.S.-based hard surface flooring manufacturers with extensive domestic production capabilities, AHF Products positions its local manufacturing model as supporting domestic jobs while delivering superior environmental performance through reduced transportation emissions and enhanced supply chain control.
The company views its inaugural sustainability report as the beginning of an ongoing journey toward greater environmental transparency and continuous improvement in manufacturing practices.
