Gundlach Tools Acquires Ceno USA to Expand Portfolio

The Beno J. Gundlach Company, a family-owned manufacturer of professional flooring installation tools, has acquired Ceno USA, a Houston-based leader in floor preparation and finishing equipment. The acquisition combines nearly 140 years of industry experience and creates a comprehensive product portfolio for flooring installation professionals.
Founded in 1985 by Bob Moffett, Ceno USA has established itself as a leader in floor preparation equipment, industrial vacuums, and specialized tools over its 40-year history. As Moffett transitions toward semi-retirement, he sought a partner that shared his commitment to quality and service in the flooring trades.
"The Ceno name is well-known and their reputation delivers the confidence of a quality product," said Steve Gundlach, president and CEO of Gundlach Tools. "The Gundlach name also is synonymous with quality, and between us we have nearly 140 years of serving the trades community. This is a good pairing, and we look forward to continuing to deliver all our customers the quality and service they've come to expect – and deserve."
The acquisition addresses a key market need by offering distributors a single source for comprehensive flooring installation solutions. By integrating Ceno's floor preparation and finishing equipment with Gundlach's existing installation tools, the combined company can now serve the complete spectrum of flooring professionals' needs.
Seamless Transition Planned
The companies emphasized that the acquisition will not disrupt existing customer relationships or service levels. Ceno products became available through the Gundlach distribution network immediately upon closing.
"It's business as usual," Gundlach said. "Customers can order Ceno products as they always have. We expect a smooth transition as we work to fully stock our Belleville, Ill., warehouse, and in the meantime, the Ceno warehouse in Houston, Texas, continues to ship products as they're ordered."
To ensure continuity and leverage institutional knowledge, Moffett will continue with the company in an advisory role on Ceno brands within Gundlach Tools. Gundlach's George Lucker will serve as product manager, Ceno Brands, overseeing the integration and ongoing management of the acquired product lines.
