The plant features robotic manufacturing technology and high-density storage. The high-speed equipment, designed in Germany, provides automatic ingredient doses making each batch accurate to 1/10th of a pound. This allows Custom to produce materials efficiently and with a minimal amount of handling, the company says.
The facility employs 56 people. The new plant is Custom Building Products eighth manufacturing facility in the United States. Other company manufacturing facilities are located in Texas, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, and three more are in California.
