Tom Conser, manager of The Roane Co.’s San Diego branch from July 1981 to October 1999, died May 14 after a long illness. He was 71.

A member of the NWFA’s Technical and Education Committee with forestry training from Purdue University, Conser was dedicated throughout his career to improving continuing education within the wood floor industry.

“If you needed to know anything about wood flooring, Tom was the guy to call,” said Roane Co. President Jack Wilcox. “He was a wealth of knowledge, a pleasure to be around and a great friend. He will be sorely missed.”

Funeral arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Conser’s memory may be sent to the NWFA scholarship fund at 16388 Westwoods Business Park, Ellisville, Mo. 63021.
