March consumer spending, personal incomes up

WASHINGTON--The Commerce Department recently reported that consumer spending and personal income increased in March.

The increase was the fourth consecutive monthly rise for both.

Consumer spending rose 0.4% to $7.29 trillion after a 0.6% gain in February. Personal income also grew 0.4% in March to $8.92 trillion following a 0.6% increase in February.
