Sales for the quarter rose to $866 million, a 12% increase from last year’s first quarter sales.
Mohawk also said it expects second-quarter earnings to come in 20 to 25% better than the year-ago total, while third-quarter earnings will increase 10 to 15 percent compared with the year-ago period.
The company noted that the integration of the Dal-Tile acquisition will increase earnings about 10 cents a share for 2002.
