CLINTON, S.C. -- Jeff Sills has resigned as president of LDBrinkman to accept the position of chief operating officer for Anderson Hardwood Floors.

Sills and his family will relocate to South Carolina where, beginning Aug. 1, he will assume his new role as Anderson’s COO. In that role, he will be responsible for sales, marketing and logistical support. He will also become part of the Anderson executive committee reporting to Don Finkell, company president.

“I have worked with Jeff for almost 20 years,” said Finkell. “He played a key role in building Brinkman into the world’s largest and most respected flooring distributor before their purchase by Beaulieu. I am proud that someone of Jeff’s caliber has chosen to be part of the Anderson family.

“Jeff’s in-depth knowledge of distribution and retailer issues will add insight to our senior management team,” Finkell continued. “Our goal is to become the most profitable line our distributors’ carry and Jeff will help us move in that direction.”

“Of the opportunities available to me, and after long discussions with my family and close friends, it was clear that Anderson was where I wanted to be,” Sills said. “Unlike other situations, my role at Anderson is not a turnaround. Rather, I look forward to adding to the positive momentum already in place. That will free Don [Finkell] to do what he wants to do -- concentrate on the infrastructure necessary to support the company’s continued rapid growth.”

Sills began his career at Brinkman immediately upon graduation from Mississippi State University. He rapidly rose through the company ranks serving in various capacities including territory manager, sales manager, general manager, president of its Northern Division, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, and finally company president. Sills also held executive positions with Beaulieu of America and DalTile.
