Bayer develops stain repellent for use on carpets and rugs

Bayer Chemicals Corp. has introduced BayProtect SSB, a patent-pending stain repellent specifically formulated for commercial and residential carpets and rugs. The product is designed to repel liquid spills and fend off the damaging effects of dry soil.

BayProtect SSB is formulated to offer outstanding light-fastness properties that can be applied at ultra-low, add-on levels, the company says. BayProtect SSB has been certified by Solutia as meeting criteria for carpets bearing the Wear-Dated fiber brand name.
