The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) announced that it has selected FieldTurf as the new synthetic grass surface for Giants Stadium. The announcement was made by NJSEA President/CEO George Zoffinger.

Giants Stadium hosts the home games for the National Football League's New York Giants and New York Jets, along with Major League Soccer's New York/New Jersey Metro-Stars.

On Jan. 23, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) released its biannual ranking of NFL stadium fields at a press conference during Super Bowl week in San Diego. In the survey, completed by 1,280 league players representing all 32 teams, FieldTurf's surface at Seahawks Stadium in Seattle was ranked third-best overall, according to FieldTurf.
