United States Gypsum Co., a subsidiary of USG Corp., has opened a new high-speed manufacturing line at the company’s Baltimore plant to meet increasing demand for Durock-brand cement board.
The 90,000-square-foot cement board line expansion created 35 new positions at the Baltimore facility. This plant also manufactures U.S. Gypsum’s Sheetrock-brand gypsum panels and plaster products.
With the opening of the Baltimore line, U.S. Gypsum now operates four cement board manufacturing facilities. The other lines are located in Detroit, New Orleans and Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
