Kim Tengler's winning entry for the NARMS 2000 Decorative Rug Contest.

The National Association of Rug Makers and Sculptors (NARMS) has awarded its 2000 Decorative Rug Contest Award to Kim Tengler of Wisconsin. Involved with various forms of art since a young age, Tengler learned how to design and make carved rugs through a National Carpet Equipment course in 1991.

Decorative rug makers throughout the United States and Canada competed in the contest. Entries were judged on the basis of workmanship, complexity, design choice, and overall appeal.

Tengler's First Place Award was presented during the annual NARMS meeting in Las Vegas. The First Place rug will be displayed at various National and International Markets throughout 2001.
