MOUNT OLIVE, N.J.—BASF Corp., the North American affiliate of BASF AG based in Germany, recently established the 911 Fund. The BASF Corp. 911 Fund was founded to aid the families of the police, fire and emergency medical service workers who lost their lives while responding to the World Trade Center terrorist attack.

The proceeds raised by the fund will be donated to select organizations for distribution to affected families. BASF will match all employee donations.

Jurgen Strube, chairman of the board of executive directors of BASF AG, recently expressed his condolences in a letter to BASF U.S. operations employees. He wrote, “Personally and on behalf of the other members of the Board of Executive Directors, let me express to you, our American colleagues, our deepest sympathy and condolences in particular to the families of the victims of this horrendous act.”
