The 2002 DuPont Antron Design Award Grand Prize was presented to C&R/Rizvi Inc., for its innovative use of carpet in a childcare facility. The firm designed the interior of the Reebok Childcare Center for Reebok International Ltd.’s headquarters in Canton, Mass, using products constructed of Antron nylon. C&R/Rizvi Inc. received a $5,000 cash prize, and will be the focus of a national publicity campaign.

For its grand prize winning installation, C&R/Rizvi Inc. used Entendre, a Prince Street product from Bentley Prince Street constructed of Antron Legacy nylon, and Interface Flooring Systems Inc.’s Paintbox in Antron Lumena solution-dyed nylon.

Category winners each received a $1,000 cash prize. VOA Associates Inc. won for the Small Office category. Large Office winners were Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum Inc., and STUDIOS Architecture. Hospitality winners were Carrier Johnson and HNTB. Public Spaces/Institutional winners were Clive Wilkinson Architects and C&R/Rizvi Inc. Gensler won for the Retail category.

Merit awards were given to Hammel, Green and Abrahamson Inc. for Healthcare; Trellage-Ferrill Architecture and Art for Hospitality; Gary Lee Partners for Large Office; and SmithGroup for Public Spaces/Institutional.
