Mannington Commercial has become the third major floor covering supplier to recently announce a price hike due to the rising cost of raw materials. The company said it is implementing a 4 to 6 percent increase on vinyl composition tile (VCT) products, effective with all orders shipped on or after Feb. 28.

"The rising costs of PVC resins and plasticizers continue to put tremendous pressure on our margins," said Mannington's president of commercial business, Jack Ganley.

"We are in the process of evaluating the full impact of these increases on our resilient sheet goods in both the Commercial and Residential businesses," he continued. "And we believe that our customers will continue to view Mannington resilient as a competitive product, as well as a good value."

The announcement comes on the heels of similar moves by Armstrong Floor Products and Tarkett Commercial.
