Crossville Porcelain Stone USA has authorized the construction of a new 300,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and distribution center. The decision was based on the current favorable market for porcelain tile and the need for advanced production facilities that can keep pace with design trends, says Crossville.

The groundbreaking ceremony at the facility took place this spring and construction is scheduled for completion by year’s end. The plant is located near the company’s existing facility in Crossville, Tenn., and will feature the most advanced technology available, the company says. It will have an annual production capacity of 40 million square feet of tile. The new facility is expected to turn out its first tiles early in 2001.
