ATLANTA--Home Depot Inc. is teaming with home services firm ServiceMaster Co. to test a range of residential maintenance and repair services such as landscaping and upholstery cleaning.

Home Depot and ServiceMaster will test the co-branded services in three markets early next year, offering them in 30 Home Depot stores.

The program fits with Home Depot's plan to expand into adjacent business lines in home improvement. The retailer currently installs kitchen cabinets, carpet and flooring and provides door, window and roof replacement.

The companies’ services include Home Depot-Terminix termite and pest-control, carpet cleaning and plumbing repair.

Home Depot Chief Executive Robert Nardelli, who will become Home Depot chairman next year, will detail his growth plans at a company-sponsored analyst meeting in Atlanta later this week.

Many analysts expect him to lower Home Depot's earnings growth rate estimates to reflect the 23-year-old firm's maturation.
