One of the Ironman triathletes celebrates with his two sons at the finish line, which is marked off by 60 yards of Wear-Dated carpet.

The Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, turned 25 this year and Wear-Dated carpet fiber was first at the finish line to celebrate. After completing a 2.4-mile swim in Kailua Bay, a 112-mile bike ride across Big Island and a 26.2-mile marathon, athletes completed the race on 60 yards of blue carpet emblazoned with the Ironman and Wear-Dated carpet fiber logos.

The carpet was manufactured specifically for the event by Mohawk Industries' Durkan Division. Wear-Dated carpet fiber is made from 100 percent premium nylon 6,6, and is manufactured by Solutia.
