Jim Walker, the founding president of the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (CFI), will be the first installer inducted into The World Floor Covering Association's (WFCA) Hall of Fame. A 40-year veteran of the business, Walker helped establish CFI in 1993. It now has 41 chapters and more than 14,000 members. In announcing his selection as the 36th inductee into its Hall of Fame, WFCA credited Walker with building a partnership between installers and those who sell flooring products. "This honor is long-over due and more than warranted," said Riley Gazzaway, chairman of the WFCA Industry Hall of Fame Committee and general sales manager of the Atlanta Flooring Design Center. "Throughout Jim's long career in the floor covering industry, his name has become synonymous with professionalism, integrity, leadership, education and training. His vision has added a whole new dimension to the way our products are bought and sold." WFCA is accepting nominations for future inductees who have been in the business at least 25 years and have made a significant contribution to field of floor covering.
