Tyco Thermal Controls has extended its popular Raychem brand beyond heat-tracing products with the introduction of the Raychem QuickNet electric warming system. The system, which can be installed directly under ceramic tile or stone, benefits from a heating cable woven into an adhesive-backed fiberglass mesh. The mat also features a low, 3/16-inch profile.

SureSeal presents Hi-Gloss Stone Enhancer, a sealant formulated to provide long-lasting, wet-look shines. SureSeal Hi-Gloss Stone Enhancer can be applied by spray buffing and high-speed burnishing, as well as by brush, mop, sponge or roller. Hi-Gloss Stone Enhancer is designed for use on floors, walls and countertops.

GE Industrial, Sensing has unveiled the non-invasive Protimeter Aquant moisture meter. The meter uses radio frequency to detect moisture in building materials, behind walls and beneath floor coverings. The Aquant provides instant results from up to three-quarters of an inch below the surface via a digital display and color-changing LED scale, GE Industrial, Sensing says. The color-changing scale gives users a quick peek of the material's moisture level.

Degussa Building Systems recently launched ChemRex LevelPrep, a polymer-modified, Portland cement-based finishing underlayment designed with a creamy consistency and improved trowelability. ChemRex LevelPrep can be applied over virtually any subfloor, even embossed resilient sheet vinyl and adhesive residue, the company says.

Custom Building Products has expanded the color palette of its Prism SureColor Grout line with the addition of 10 new colors. These new hues - Fawn, Summer Wheat, Sandstone, Tobacco Brown, New Taupe, Light Smoke, Charcoal and three grays - bring the number of color choices to 22. Prism SureColor Grout features the proprietary CustomLite Technology, which uses a cellular aggregate composed of 100 percent recycled material in lieu of the typical sand. This technology makes the grout up to 30 percent lighter than traditional grouts, Custom Building says.

Advanced Adhesive Technologies Inc. (AAT) presents ProblemSolver URA, a high-solids, water-resistant, patented tri-polymer adhesive formulated to minimize cupping, end life, shrinkage and hollow spots in the installation of engineered plank, long plank and solid strip floors. The adhesive is freeze-thaw stable, according to AAT.

Bostik Flooring has rolled out Durabond D-807, a water-based sprayable adhesive formulated for the installation of glue-down and double-stick carpet and pad. D-807 can be used without proprietary spray equipment and features an open time of an hour, so that users can reposition carpet in large areas as needed, Bostik says. The adhesive is designed for use in high-traffic areas.

The Industrial Products Division of United States Gypsum Co. has released a new family of poured, self-leveling cement underlayments called Levelrock SLC. The products use an engineered cement chemistry that aims to provide high compressive strengths and versatility in all types of applications. Products in the Levelrock SLC range include regular, medium and high-performance versions.
