RadiciGroup, the Italy-based worldwide producer of chemicals, plastics, fibers, and textiles, has introduced a new antimicrobial nylon carpet yarn, polyamide 6, that contains Milliken & Co.'s AlphaSan antimicrobial agent.
AlphaSan antimicrobial agent is designed to use advanced silver-based technology to help inhibit the growth of bacteria, mildew, mold, and other microorganisms that can cause odors, discoloration and deterioration of various consumer and commercial products. RadiciGroup's antimicrobial yarn will be incorporated into contract market carpet offerings worldwide, according to the company.
