George Poindexter's award-winning "Crop Circles" design.

George Poindexter of Boise, Idaho, won the 2003 Decorative Rug Contest sponsored by the National Association of Rug Makers and Sculptors (NARMS).

Poindexter's firm, The Rug Bindery, has done business in Idaho's Treasure Valley area since 1992. His winning 4-by-6-foot creation, "Crop Circles," was executed using rich gold, wheat, taupe, and black to create a surrealistic Idaho landscape.

Decorative rug makers throughout North America competed in the contest. Entries were judged on workmanship, complexity, design choice, and overall appeal.

Poindexter's creation will be displayed at various national and international markets throughout 2004.
