StarNet hosts fifth annual Design Awards

Rubenstein's Contract Carpet LLC won a design award in the hospitality category for this University of Washington installation.


Flooring Technologies won a design award in the education category for this installation at the Lord Sterling School in New Brunswick, N.J.
StarNet Commercial Flooring Cooperative recently hosted its fifth annual Design Awards competition. Entries were judged on creative use of floor covering, flooring design concept and the design’s ability to meet client objectives and special challenges.

Six Crystal Prize Category winners were chosen -- Intertech Flooring (large corporate), Lane’s Floor Covering Inc. (small corporate); Flooring Technologies (education); Rubenstein’s Contract Carpet LLC (public space and hospitality); and Classic Floors (healthcare). A Design Awards grand prize was given to Intertech Flooring for its large corporate submission.

Intertech Flooring will receive a cash prize and be the focus of a national publicity campaign for its grand prize-winning design at the Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Field LLP offices in Austin. Architects and designers from Graeber, Simmons & Cowan used Atlas Carpet in the contemporary office space.
