Boa-Franc Inc., manufacturer of Mirage prefinished wood flooring, recently opened the company’s second manufacturing plant in Quebec. The new plant will be home to Mirage Classic 3/4-inch solid hardwood flooring. The new facility’s capacity is projected to increase production of the Classic line by 50 percent, according to Boa-Franc.

The 60,000-square-foot facility represents the initial step in a multi-phased, $50 million project scheduled for completion in 2007. When finished, the plant will include kiln-drying units, a mill yard, a finish line, a second manufacturing line for the company’s 3/8-inch engineered flooring, and new shipping and storage areas.

After the final phase is completed, the new plant will feature more than 500,000 square feet of space. The company also expects to add 200 new jobs over the next five years.
