Surfaces 2004, which will take place Jan. 28-30 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas, is 80 percent sold out, according to Hanley-Wood, with an additional 30,000 square feet of exhibit space being used over last year's show.

Companies including Beaulieu, Burlington, Dal-Tile, Domco, DuPont, Formica, Honeywell, Johnsonite, Mannington Mills, Milliken and Pergo will be exhibiting -- in all more than 950 companies ranging from carpet, rugs, hardwood and tile to stone, marble and specialty flooring, according to Hanley-Wood. Mohawk, Shaw, Congoleum, Columbia Flooring and Armstrong have separately announced that they will not be attending the show in order to better focus on regional events.

This year will mark the first Surfaces Celebration, a networking event sponsored by Mannington Mills and Surfaces for exhibitors and attendees, with entertainment by Kool & the Gang.

An all-new installation showcase, made possible by Surfaces, the WFCA and the Certified Floor Covering Installers Association (CFI), will feature live demonstration workshops on the show floor.

The 2004 conference program will feature all-new content in 42 seminars and workshops. Key industry leaders will offer their expertise on business, marketing, sales, installation and design to help attendees stay ahead of their competition, increase their bottom line and grow their businesses, according to Hanley-Wood.
