Winneconne, Wis.-based Historic Floors of Oshkosh has merged with Creative Edge Corp. of Fairfield, Iowa, to create a single-source U.S. manufacturer of decorative floor borders and medallions fabricated from hard-surface flooring materials. The combined forces of the two companies will operate under the Concept Flooring Group (CFG) name.

The operating synergies of CFG blend the hand craftsmanship and laser wood-cutting technology of Historic Floors of Oshkosh with Creative Edge's waterjet and ultrasonic cutting capabilities for stone, ceramic tile and vinyl flooring. The brand identities of both companies' products - which include a variety of stock medallions and borders in multiple wood species, stone ceramic tile and resilient materials - will be maintained under the CFG banner.

"CFG is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of the ever-growing trend towards customization," said Randy Stertmeyer, CFG's director of sales and marketing. "We will make the designer's job much easier."

CFG's corporate headquarters is located in Wisconsin at Historic Floors of Oshkosh's recently expanded 60,000-square-foot facility. All of the company's wood products will continue to be manufactured there, whereas all ceramic tile, stone and resilient selections will be fabricated at Creative Edge's 100,000-square-foot Iowa facility.
