Two key Mannington Mills plants have received a third-party seal of approval related to quality control and environmental concerns. Both Mannington's commercial tile and inlaid flooring operations are now registered to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The two plants are located in separate commercial facilities at the company's headquarters in Salem, N.J. and employ "a progressive merged management system" committed to improved environmental and quality performance, Mannington said.

The company's senior vp of operations, Scott Caldwell said the ISO recognition was a significant development for Mannington. "Accomplishing this milestone required a significant commitment of time and resources," he said. "This is yet another step for Mannington, as we strive to exceed the expectations of our customers, neighbors and associates."

Specifically, the two operations were registered to ISO 9001 Quality Standard, and the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard. Previously, Mannington's laminate operation in High Point, N.C., was third-party certified to the ISO 9001 Quality Standard in April 2003. The company said it is working to certify its Calhoun, Ga., commercial carpet operation to the ISO 14001 standard.
