A "highly regarded fabricator": Hunter Douglas acquires Elmar

Window coverings maker Hunter Douglas has purchased Elmar Window Fashions, a fabricator and wholesaler of Hunter Douglas products. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Plans call for Elmar Window Fashions, based in Willow Grove, Penn., to continue serving customers under the Elmar name. In addition, Hunter Douglas said that Elmar's management will remain the same, including Craig Garretson, principal owner of the company for the past 26 years.

"Elmar is one of the most successful and highly regarded fabricators in the United States. We look forward to working with the Elmar organization to further strengthen Hunter Douglas' position."

Added Garretson, "This union with Hunter Douglas will help ensure that we continue our dynamic growth while providing exceptional support to our many valued customers."
