Mannington is once again asking for help identifying women who are "enriching the lives of others and making a positive impact in their communities." The floor maker is seeking nominations for its second annual "Stand On A Better World" Awards in three categories: Social, (helping people improve their quality of life), Economic, (improving the economic situation of a group or person), and Environmental (preserving our country's natural resources.) Any woman who is a citizen of either the U.S. or Canadian can be nominated. There are no age restrictions.

The president and CEO of Mannington Mills, Tom Davis, said he expects there will be a greater response this year than last year when the company launched the award program. "In our first year, we received more than 450 nominations which contained stories about women who have demonstrated great strength, passion and courage to help others," said Davis. "These women are an inspiration to us all, and truly make our world a better place on which to stand."

Winners will be selected by a panel of distinguished women including the former governor of New Jersey, Christine Todd Whitman; Olympic gold medal figure skater Dorothy Hamill; and TV personality Leeza Gibbons. The results will be announced in October and the winners will be honored at a ceremony in Philadelphia's National Liberty Museum slated for Nov. 16.
