Ed Janeczek, a field installation specialist for Congoleum for 25 years, died March 25 in Naples, Fla., from complications due to cancer. He was 64.

Janeczek had been actively involved in the flooring industry for more than 45 years. While at Congoleum, he taught more than 3,000 training seminars to 50,000 trade professionals. Before becoming a Congoleum installation specialist, the Oak Forest, Ill., native owned Crete Carpet and Tile in Crete, Ill. He moved to Naples three years ago.

"Ed was best known for his ability to relate to individuals of all levels," said Congoleum in a statement. "His enthusiasm and fun-loving nature will be remembered. Ed will be missed by his friends at Congoleum and throughout the industry."

Janeczek is survived by his wife Helen of 42 years; daughters Maureen Klatt and Denise Garrison; sister Delores Watson; brother Henry Janeczek and five grandchildren. Donations may be made in memory of Ed to: the American Cancer Society, 990 First Ave. S., Ste. 200, Naples, FL 34102.
