A new trade publication serving professionals involved in construction site preparation will be formally launched next year by the parent company of National Floor Trends, BNP Media. Set to begin regular publication in January 2007 with an initial circulation of about 30,000, Site Prep, is aimed at those involved in grading, excavating and demolition as well as landscape contractors, site specifiers/planners and heavy equipment dealers.
In announcing plans to offer Site Prep as a standalone publication six times annually, BNP said the decision was based on the publication's success as a supplement to other BNP publications, as well as extensive market research and field visits to construction sites and equipment suppliers. Over the past three years, eight editions of Site Prep have been distributed along with other BNP publications.
"Site Prep will be unique by presenting a heavy technology focus on the work site," said publisher Dan Murfey. "Site Prep began as a way for our surveying and geomatics audience to connect on site preparation, with GPS/machine control a focal point. But as Site Prep evolved, we've quickly realized the entire site construction and specifying community needs this information."
Site Prep's January issue will include bonus distribution at the industry gathering World of Concrete and the National Utility Contractors Association Show.
