David Duncan has been named vp marketing for Mohawk Residential. He succeeds Ed Williams, senior vp marketing, who recently retired. Duncan, a 15-year industry veteran, will oversee general marketing, advertising, merchandising and training for all segments of Mohawk Residential.

"David [Duncan] brings insight and enthusiasm to this position, and he has a keen understanding of Mohawk's marketing strategies and goals," said Tom Lape, president of Mohawk Residential. "He is an ideal individual to help Mohawk add to its marketing successes, and to help us find new ways to build our brand and its value to our dealers and to consumers."

Duncan began his career at Mohawk in 1989 in field sales for the Karastan brand. He moved to marketing in 1991 and rose through the ranks to become Karastan's director of marketing n 1995. He then departed Mohawk to lead rug marker Louis de Porteere as president of U.S. operations. In 2001, he returned to Mohawk, and is credited for developing marketing and merchandising programs across all of Mohawk's brands.

Mike Zoellner, vp marketing services, and Steve Nosek, director advertising and merchandising, will report to Duncan.
