Custom Building Products announced recently that it has purchased Aqua Mix Inc., the 26-year-old tile and stone care products maker based in Corona, Calif. According to Custom, based 40 miles west in Seal Beach, plans call for Aqua Mix to retain its name and current management team. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Tom Peck, Custom's president and CEO, said that the acquisition was in keeping with Custom's strategy to provide high-end installation materials to all areas of the tile and stone marketplace.

"Aqua Mix has made customer satisfaction and loyalty a priority, earning it through a combination of quality products and long-term relationships with its customers," he said. "We are proud to welcome Aqua Mix to the Custom family."

Aqua Mix's founders, Manuel and Jill Magallanes, said in a statement to employees that aligning their company with Custom will help bring "unlimited growth opportunities" to Aqua Mix.

"The decision to sell our company was made easier by the realization," they said, noting "it has been such a wonderful experience to have started Aqua Mix 26 years ago ... and then to have achieved the success that we have. We owe that success to our employees and customers."
