In a move that will streamline the way Shaw Industries sells flooring
to hotels, the company said it will combine two of its well-established commercial
lines. Shaw Hospitality, a line of textured carpet developed for installation
in guest rooms, is being merged with Design Origins, which is comprised of
patterned carpet for lobbies, elevators and other public areas. The newly
created enterprise will be known as Shaw Hospitality Group. The company
describes it as an “overarching commercial hospitality brand.”
“With the
formation of Shaw Hospitality Group, Shaw is creating synergy among its
hospitality brands by taking them to market collectively,” said Tim Baucom, vp
commercial marketing and sales. “This collaboration between Shaw Hospitality
and Design Origins focuses our two hospitality brands and allows Shaw
Hospitality Group to streamline its sales and marketing initiatives going
forward.”
Kevin
Sanders, vp Shaw Hospitality Group, will head the group. Additionally, the
company has named Charley Knight as vp sales and Desiree Worsley as vp marketing.
Knight, who was previously vice president of sales for Shaw Hospitality, is
charged with leading the sales effort. Worsley, who was vp sales and marketing
for Design Origins, will handle marketing initiatives and lead product and
design development.
“Shaw Hospitality Group has
the design expertise and experience to be a comprehensive resource to our hotel
clients,” said Sanders. “Across public spaces and guest rooms alike, our
unified brands, along with our proven record of customer service and design
customization and creativity, is serving the hospitality industry in an even
greater capacity.”
