Universal Fibers unveils new cradle to cradle tech
September 21, 2007
Universal Fibers said it has developed a new technology that produces nylon 6,6 fiber from recycled carpeting. Working in cooperation with commercial carpet tile maker InterfaceFLOR, the as yet unnamed technology separates carpet face fiber from backing so that it can be recycled. This allows an “economically viable” way to reprocess post-consumer fiber into new commercial products, according to the company. For details, circle 154 on the Reader Inquiry Card.
