Rich DeOrzio has been named exec vp sales for Fabrica. For the past nine years, DeOrzio has held the position of northeast regional vice president for Masland Carpets and Rugs. Prior to joining Masland, DeOrzio served as a sales vp for Lees Carpets, a division of Burlington Industries.
David Wootton, exec vp Columbia Flooring, will retire at an appointed time in 2007, and will be succeeded by Greg Pray. He will work with Wootton to continue the expansion and development of the company’s various business units. “Greg’s energy, enthusiasm and business acumen will be invaluable to Columbia, especially as we face the task of competing in what has become a global industry.” Wootton said.
Shawn King has been added to Bonsal American’s management team as director of marketing/product development. King is responsible for brand management and product research and development for both the Sakrete and Bonsal brands. King also manages both brands’ product technical support services. Additionally, Tomas Hernandez has been promoted to area sales manager for Bonsal branded tile and stone installation products. He joined the company in August 2000 as a territory sales manager for Sakrete branded products.
BonaKemi USA has announced a few personnel moves: John Fairbanks has been promoted to regional contractor manager for the southeast. He will be responsible for educating and training contractors and distribution personnel on the Bona systems in Florida, southern Georgia and southern Alabama. Jared Hall, who has been with the company for four years, has been elevated to project manager. Chad Nordhagen has been promoted to finish product manager. He will be responsible for all wood floor finishing products as well as activities for all market channels.
Laticrete founder and chairman emeritus Dr. Henry M. Rothberg will be inducted into the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association Hall of Fame this month. The achievement recognizes Rothberg’s significant contributions to the association and the industry as a whole. Rothberg received his degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Carolina and attended Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
Bruce Cantor has been appointed national commercial sales manager of Mirage. The industry veteran joins the company with 20 years of experience in commercial hard surface flooring. He was previously the national sales manager for Mullican Flooring.
Aaron Bunker has been named sales agent-commercial products, Loxcreen Flooring Group. He will be responsible for Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
