Milliken to launch commercial carpet plant in China
With an eye toward better serving growing markets throughout
Asia, Milliken Floor Covering said it is launching a commercial carpet plant in
the Zhangjiagang province of China. Slated to open by the end of this year, the
plant is part of the company’s new wholly owned subsidiary Milliken Textile
(Zhangjiagang) Co. Ltd.
“The Chinese and other Asia Pacific markets for commercial carpet have grown and are projected to grow very rapidly,” said Russell Grizzle, president of Milliken’s Floor Covering division. “We are confident that with the start-up of our new facility, we will be well-positioned to meet the needs of our customers in China and the Asia Pacific Region by providing beautiful, high-quality product with short lead times and competitive prices.”
Milliken noted that it plans to install Milliken proprietary technologies at the new plant.
